JULY 16 –AUGUST 4, 2019

I am a current member of OMMA and have read and understood the Standard Criteria for OMMA Exhibitions and the information sheets pertaining to the above exhibition and I agree to all the terms, conditions, criteria, and important dates outlined.

I hereby release and discharge Ottawa Mixed Media Artists and its members or representatives and the applicable gallery of and from any claim or demand whatsoever for loss, injury to or damage to any work exhibited by the undersigned while exhibited at the gallery, or during transportation to or from the show location, and I understand it is my responsibility to insure any works of art and paintings belonging to me.

I give permission for OMMA to photograph any of my work accepted in the show and understand they may be used solely by OMMA for the purpose of publicity or as part of applications made to galleries on behalf of Ottawa Mixed Media Artists.

Whenever a single image photograph of work is used, the artist will be clearly identified by name. Whenever my work is included in a general group photo taken at shows, every attempt will be made to identify the artists in these shots where practical and possible.

Each artist must work shifts in the gallery!

1. Artist MUST take a minimum of two (2) shifts sitting at the Gallery.   Each shift is 3.5 hours.  Artist is responsible for finding a replacement sitter if - for any reason - they cannot work the shift.  NO EXCEPTIONS!

2.Sitters will be responsible for a variety of tasks, from opening/closing the Gallery, processing sales in debit, credit or cash on the Gallery’s I-pad, producing receipts, etc.

3.All artists in the Show must contact Stephanie Huckabone at (613-823-3541) to schedule their sitting time during the show. Artists can share shifts if they wish but we must cover all shifts at the Foyer Gallery! Sitting details Deadline is June 14 same as registering for the show..

I have enclosed my entry fee of $10.00. I have signed up for my shifts.

OMMA is a volunteer run group that needs participating artists to help in the success of all our shows. Please choose a task ( separate from sitting the Gallery) that you would like to help with for this show. We will try to rotate our volunteer duties throughout the year. If chosen, you will be notified by email confirming your task along with more information.

  1. The registrant must have current membership in OMMA, a signed waiver and photography permission on file and email confirmation from the Exhibition Coordinator to enter the show.

  1. Entrance fees are non-refundable:

  • After the stated cut-off date

  • If the painting is refused by the Exhibition Committee due to not meeting the Call for Artists Criteria

  • If the work is inappropriate in any way

  1. Work must be original mixed media with more than one compatible material or techniques on the surface.

    1. Materials can include paint, inks, pastels, coloured pencils, etc.

    2. Mixed techniques can include stenciling, scratching, drawing, painting, scraping, collage, and the use of various tools to apply or remove paint, etc.

    3. Diluting acrylic paint with mediums does not make a “mixed media” painting.

    4. Using mediums to produce significant texture or other noticeable impact is considered to be mixed media.

    5. Digital or photographic imagery and traditional mixed media techniques may be combined providing the traditional elements are more predominant.

    6. If in doubt, please contact an OMMA Executive member.

  1. All work must be original, created solely by the submitting artist (i.e. no re-prints, cards, kits, giclees).

  1. Work must be ready to hang with a tight multi-filamented wire and D Ring that is placed on the back, 1/3 from the top unless otherwise specified. The Exhibitions Committee reserves the right to disqualify any work that is not ready for hanging.

  1. Substrates:

    1. Canvas pieces must have no staples showing.

    2. ½” or 3/4” canvases may have frames and they must be floating frames.

    3. Delicate pieces (eg: pastels and cloth) may also be framed and they must be done using plexiglass and ½” frames.

    4. Stone, metal or wood surfaces should not exceed twenty pounds and must be prepared for safe hanging.

  1. Three-dimensional sculptures or relief work must be secure and stable with no dangerous protrusions. Artists may be responsible to provide plinths/stands, or install the work.

  1. To allow the maximum number of paintings to be hung in an exhibition, the total “footprint”, not including the allowed frame, and all vertical and lateral extensions, must not exceed the maximum outside dimension noted for the exhibition criteria. Protrusions (bas relief) from the front of the piece are acceptable within reason.

  1. A label must be securely attached to the lower back of the work, clearly noting the name and phone number of the artist, the title, and list of materials used.

  1. Wrapping materials must be removed from the venue after drop off.

  1. All work must be for sale. OMMA discourages placing an arbitrarily inflated price (e.g. $25,000) on works the artist does not wish to sell.

  1. The artist must not remove the work before the end of the show.

  1. Insurance is the responsibility of the artist.
